Single Review: “Catch Me If You Can” by Hardcore Superstar

Swedish heavy metal band Hardcore Superstar will be releasing the first single “Catch Me If You Can” off their upcoming album “Abrakadabra” on all digital platforms on August 20th. The band formed in 1997 and have released 11 studio albums to date. When they announced they were putting out a new single and later a new album, I could not have been more thrilled. After the immense success of their 2018 album “You Can’t Kill My Rock ‘N’ Roll”, expectations were high for this new single… and wow did they deliver.

“Catch Me If You Can” immediately brings the energy and pure fire that Hardcore Superstar is known for. The only natural response to this song is to start head-banging! As soon as Jocke Berg’s vocals kick in with the driving drums and bass accented perfectly by Vic Zino’s artistic guitar riffs, you’re riding the wave of this anthemic metal track – and there is no escaping. It isn’t often I find myself singing along with a song by the end of the first listen but I just couldn’t resist joining in on the gang vocals in the choruses. And there is no great rock song without a solo and Vic Zino certainly delivered a face-melting, shreddy yet melodic solo to this tune. Whether it’s driving down the highway, on the radio, jamming at home or at a rock show – “Catch Me If You Can” is the single we’ve all been waiting to hear from Hardcore Superstar.
