Jane N’ The Jungle are a female-fronted Phoenix-based alt rock band recently signed to Cleopatra Records. The band are a trio jam-packed with talent and grit, ready to take the scene by storm.
Rockin’ Interviews – How are you?
Jane N’ The Jungle – Hi! We are doing great, just got back from Guadalajara for
Davis Carpenter’s wedding. Davis is our little brother and has been playing drums
with us for years, so it was great being able to celebrate with him and his family this
week. Also, we are still hyped about our new release, “Raw as a Jewel.”
Rockin’ Interviews – You just released your first single on Cleopatra Records, ‘Raw As A Jewel’, what was the inspiration behind this track?
Jane N’ The Jungle – To be raw and yourself, it’s intense and sometimes too much bit it’s also beautiful, just like a jewel in its raw form. Sometimes sharp, dull or chipped but that’s what makes the beauty behind each one, and each one of us.
Rockin’ Interviews – What was filming the video for ‘Raw As A Jewel’ like and can we expect more videos in the near future?
Jane N’ The Jungle – We had a blast creating the music video! We filmed it at Madhouse
Studios in Phoenix, AZ with Raysquared Productions. We wanted to have fun and
showcase a bit of who we are. We are currently working on our next music video with
Jim Louvau and it’s going to be heavier and more intense, we can’t wait!
Rockin’ Interviews – Can fans expect a full-length album in the New Year?
Jane N’ The Jungle – Ahhh, I would love that! We have some more singles we will be releasing soon and hoping to get in the studio early next year, fingers crossed on a full length!
Rockin’ Interviews – Starting the band in 2013, how do you feel you’ve grown as musicians?
Jane N’ The Jungle – It’s really felt like small baby steps along the way, so it’s always hard for me to pinpoint the growth. I think it’s been patience, practice and persistence that has helped get us this far. Naturally, we have got better at our performance and writing but the passion has always been there and has never changed.
Rockin’ Interviews – Jane N’ The Jungle has an alternative rock/metal with a hint of punk sound, what
inspired you to take on the heavier side of rock?
Jane N’ The Jungle – We are extremely passionate people and the music and genre fit with our intensity. Each song of ours is a bit different, sometimes more grunge, punk, pop or hard rock, but overall we love rock n roll and getting to portray different stories and emotions.
Rockin’ Interviews – How do you feel your sound has developed since your debut album ‘Concrete Jungle’?
Jane N’ The Jungle – I think we have a more focused rock sound, and we will continue to dive deeper into
the exploration of our sound and you’ll hear that in whats to come! “Concrete Jungle” came very organically without trying to be anything but what it was at the time, and we are extremely proud of that special moment in time.
Rockin’ Interviews – You can go back in time to see one concert/festival, who do you choose and why?
Jane N’ The Jungle – Janis Joplin at Woodstock 69. I would love to see her perform live and get to experience the vibes of that time and space.
Rockin’ Interviews – You can only listen to three albums for the rest of your life, what do you choose?
Jane N’ The Jungle – OMG, this is hard, but off the top of my head. Brandi Carlile “The Story,” Pink “Funhouse,” Manchester Orchestra “Mean Everything to Nothing.”
Rockin’ Interviews – Is there anything else you’d like to add?
Jane N’ The Jungle – Thank you so much for all your love and support for our music. It truly means the world to us, and we hope we can inspire all those we can with our music. We look forward to rockin’ with you guys in 2023 and sharing more new music with you soon!
