Album Review: “The Devil You Know” by L.A. Guns

Two years prior to the release of “The Devil You Know”, hard rock band L.A. Guns released their 11th studio album “The Missing Piece”. Fans fell in love with “The Missing Piece” because it showcased the band’s heavier material. Continuing with that notion, the band released The Devil You Know on March 29th, 2019. The title track “The Devil You Know” features the booming bass of Johnny Martin and the “get-stuck-in-your- head” kinda riffs from the soul of Tracii Guns wrapped around a fairly dark, yet fitting, music video. That video reached 21,000 views in 24 hours, proving the hashtag of the video, #RockAintDead, to be fully true. One of the songs that really caught my attention when I first listened to “The Devil You Know” was “Needle To The Bone” because it really stays true to the original L.A. Guns roots, and the inspirations of these 5 guys really show through. “Another Season In Hell” brings a huge amount of emotion to the album, showing the struggles and the hardest times these guys have been through in the decades L.A. Guns have been around. L.A. Guns definitely has yet another killer album on their hands and you should go check it out!
