Straight out of New York City, Husbandry offer a fresh taste of post-hardcore awesomeness. The band’s latest effort “A Port In A Storm” was released in 2019 via Static Era Records. The album kicks off with “Lupus Dei”, a track that shows the band is not playing around. The second track – “Your Weight In Gold” carries the same aggressive energy as the previous. In contrast, tracks 3 and 4 – “Bete Noire”’ and “Smile With Teeth” have a different vibe. The two lean more towards hard rock than the band’s traditional post-hardcore style. Personally my favorite track is “Velvet Noose” for its dynamic form and prog-rock influence. With this 8 track album, we see a variety of genres have their moment to shine. From jazz to funk to soul the influences of this band really add to the layers of the album. “A Port In A Storm” offers a creatively all-encompassing album for the masses.
